Well done to everyone! I have to admit it was the first time i had been to a "proper Country Fair do" (the county show in Stafford is NOTHING compared to this one!) but i thoroughly enjoyed myself and got to see the lurcher demo on sunday and met a gorgeous litle saluki/beddie whippety puppy...

Will have to make sure that next year i go on a saturday then.. Can you get a progamme at the ticket booth that tells you where the lurcher section is? I wonder if any deerhounds will be there.... :- "

Just read this and cannot believe someone would do that to a poor dog... Just a thought... If she doesnt like cats, and not keen on a busy household... Then surely there must be a older calmer person, maybe retired, who hasnt got cats and is looking for a companion for however long she will...

I would say it all depends on the dog. Some crosses have the greyhound brain and collie stamina, some have the collie brain and the greyhound stamina! I have seen the dog you have written about on greyhound gap forum and they are in stoke on trent. He is lovely and i did think about him...

Thanks for the info... I didnt know that 1st cross saluki greys may be hard to come by! My previous lurcher was just chilled out from the beginning which, considering she was kept outside in a cage with a bit of tarpaulin over the top for 3 years, amazed me. Brilliant hunter but didnt breed...
