Yeah they probably have a strong gut. Roxy does have a varied diet but she can be sensitive.
Yeah I actually forgot to brush my teeth this morning :eek: ...I would not rely on myself to stay on top of the defrosting haha. You're so lucky having a pet shop so close that must be super...
I second the Kong knot toys (in fact most Kong toys are pretty good!), Roxy loves her Kong comfort kiddos elephant at the moment which I bought for her birthday in May and it's still going strong and fully intact (she's not much of a chewer/destroyer mind you). :D
:eek: @JudyN! A scab?? Gross haha, now that's an unusual for sure! Best I've got from my friend of 20 years is the first daisy chain she made during a school break time and a picture she drew of me at school, and I think a few notes we passed to each other (probably during a lesson...
Oh gosh @JudyN you have to keep his rosettes, and of course his collar. I must be quite sentimental then to want to keep ruined toys :D I bet not even Mr N would keep those?
No way @Tinytom that's crazy haha made me chuckle :D:eek:
I think I classically do this, don't go on here for weeks then post multiple threads at once :D
I was clearing out Roxy's toy box the other day and realised I'd thrown a toy away that I wanted to keep because it just had a cute memory attached to it (so mad that I somehow chucked it, it was...
Yeah I think it's probably not as expensive as I think but we definitely do not have the freezer space for ourselves never mind for dog food too  ...but certainly a consideration for the future when we have a bigger kitchen and therefore a bigger freezer haha
Oh sorry yes eventually I would look at switching her wet food too as I've noticed Orijen have new wet tins. I have no idea how I'd do that like you said with having open tins around. Probably stuff a few Kongs (she has quite a kong collection!) with it mixed and freeze them. Thanks judy :)
Oh great thanks @JudyN, yes of course it would be gradual and I've just asked Orijen if they would send a free sample. The wet food wouldn't be an issue because it's remaining as Lily's right? So just adding Orijen gradually to her current Lily's dry food?
Hey everyone,
I haven't been on for a while, apologies!
I have a food question, I've been wanting to switch to a better food recently and have been looking at different ones (spent a lot of time on allaboutdogfood!), for reduced carbs and better overall health really but I'm not in a position...
I have never had that issue with appetite @Finsky, Rox is the same little piggy when it's hot!
Oh no @Hemlock poor dog! It's not the time for jogging!
That's lucky @JoanneF sounds nice and cool in the mornings for you
@Flobo I love that your ferrets even have a fan that's so...
Wow that is lucky, and it sounds like your car is nice and cool for them. Can't say the same for mine unfortunately which is mostly why we haven't been out this week, it has no air con and is a three door so the back windows are the clip types and only open a tad. The dogs must love their...
Good points there @JudyN, bless him. If dogs get stressed without their daily outing then maybe it's a must, even a short stroll like J has been doing. I love that you've been out barefoot too now that's dedication :D
Haha the dog gets fan priority before the humans love it!
Luckily Roxy is...
The summer heatwave is here! An occasional occurrence in the UK.
I found this infographic on what temperatures are safe and unsafe to walk dogs in and thought it might be useful for everyone to take a look at as a bit of guidance, particularly those who are first time dog owners.
Roxy has not...
Bit late for this post -you've probably sorted it by now- but I switched from frontline onto Nexgard Spectra from the vets which is an edible tablet that you just give as a treat which is also a wormer. Have had no issues since switching.
Thank you @Inka - She has allergies and sometimes a sensitive tummy so might research first before deciding to put her on brewers yeast. Although I noticed that the training treats I use with her (Barker & Barker little liver treats) contain it anyway. She doesn't have them everyday so not a...
Aww that's so cute JudyN, and wow yes very dedicated!
I can see myself doing this with Roxy as she loves walks (although maybe not in pouring rain) haha :D
RGC this is so true, the least we can do for them is give them lovely walks as long as they want them where they can do what they want.
Oh my heart! <3
That was a lovely read, I will definitely try to get less annoyed at the amount of times Rox has to stop and sniff and pee every 10 seconds
She's 10 so hopefully many walks ahead but it does make you think. Every time she has an off day I get super worried.. I know...
Inka do these BYT work the same with grass eating? Is that a reason for this behaviour too? When I take Roxy in the garden/out for walks she spends a lot of time eating grass like a horse
Thanks JudyN and Inka.
I think for now I'll keep her on the adult one then and if she shows any stiffness or pain I'll change her onto plus.
Yes Inka she has a few minutes to mooch around the garden first before she'll concentrate on anything else (usually involving some sniffing and grass...
