Thanks Hemlock. No of course she doesn't need starchy carbs what was I thinking, thought it seemed lacking without it I guess. I'll do what you've suggested, is it okay to freeze in portions and just thaw overnight for next time if I have too much? Should make at least three meals I would have...
This thread is a bit old now but I thought it would be easier to 'piggyback' (as someone else called it, sorry!) on someone else's thread than start my own new one.
I was thinking about incorporating homecooked food into Roxy's diet, maybe one meal a week/one fortnightly, (every little helps...
I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations of websites for natural and pure meaty treats for dogs. I was using Frescodog but recently they've been out of stock on a lot of products that I want to try out. Amazon of course is an option but not always trustworthy with stuff like this...
Roxy has a grade 5 heart murmur that she's had from birth due to a heart condition, but she's always acted like any other normal crazy Jack Russell full of energy and the specialist we saw said she didn't need limited exercise or anything...just watched for signs of getting too tired. She's...
I forgot that I hadn't replied to this since.
It is not going away for sure and people need to be considerate and smart but unfortunately a lot of people are not.
We didn't speak for a few months and then she did messaged me eventually and we made up so all is good....I never did ask about that...
So glad Jasper has a spring in his step.
Roxy doesn't climb stairs at all and hasn't for a good 8 years, she gets carried up and down the stairs :rolleyes: ...and she knows this, if she's going upstairs/downstairs with me she'll wait at the top/bottom for me to pick her up.
I think it is a...
I know a few others use Lily's Kitchen, I understand that they did sell the company to Nestle Purina not too long ago. I've seen many comments about a change in the food since they sold and I hadn't noticed this until now. Roxy is currently on the senior recipe dry and wet food. I've noticed...
Awww, it's good he likes veg :)
I knew there was something else I recently found out about Roxy, nothing to do with food but she loves footballs.
She saw OH playing with one in the garden and went for it, she'd never done this before....so she now has her own football :D
Oh that's a good idea, why didn't I think of that
Wow steak I bet he enjoyed that very much :) There are mean dog mums/dads that only feed kibble and treat with kibble. No treats at all  so I don't think Timber is hard done by. I don't think Roxy has ever had a bit of steak haha...
@JoanneF Oh dear is he fussy?
@RGC Haha she's like a child refusing to eat her veg :D ...Roxy also loves rabbit poop
@Finsky Awwww I love that about the peas that's so funny...strange how they change their preferences. I can't imagine my girl having such a bizarre like it one time then...
Awww Timber, I bet he's nice and slim though?
I would love to give her kibble as treats but couldn't have the biscuits in my pockets with what she's on at the moment it smells so bad because it's a turkey and trout one and it stinks...seriously I have her bag of food rolled up and clipped shut...
Feel like my dog is also hard done by.
This morning she had a few treats during walkies - Soopa 100% coconut treats and Fresco dog rabbit training bones.
Breakfast was her kibble soaked in water with added chopped carrot, blueberries and cooked chicken, plus her golden paste and meds: apoquel...
Does anyone else find their dog's tastes change as they age?
Roxy never used to like raw carrot, she'd eat it cooked but would refuse it if it was even a little bit undercooked for her liking, or she'd chew it up and then spit it out.
Then when I was making her birthday muffins a while ago (no...
Aah okay thanks for that info, I had heard that they shouldn't be on a working food unless they are a working dog that needs that extra energy.
Oh dear haha, that's good to know I hope it doesn't have that effect on Rox. She has enough springs already :D
I love he went to bed with a vacuum cleaner toy that's adorable.
I donate anything she doesn't use, e.g. toys she's not keen on. I've kept a few of her old collars that I could probably donate though....I don't need to keep them all haha.
