Hello,
Does anyone know how to prevent puppy wee "burning" the grass.
I've seen something about rocks to put in the puppy's drinking water. Are these safe?
Otherwise watering the grass once she's been, but i can't keep that up realistically.
Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
Thank you
How common is it for vet bills to run in to the thousands?
Still searching...Using the comparison sites, plus just look at Pet Plan too - wowsers it's expensive!
It really looks like a lottery.....It's beyond me. some of the lifetime ones are around 400£ a year ....which makes me think isn't it better to bank that and have it incase of need.
I find this all mind boggling too.
I wonder if they pay out without question, or it is like car insurance where they always twist the story.
Whilst I want reassurance of cover in place i'm reluctant to pay a high monthly premium as I'd rather just save it ready to pay in case the need comes...
Hi All,
I did a free kennel club temporary insurance when we first got our puppy and another freebie with an insurance from our vets. That's about to expire so need to pick a "permenant" insurance now.
Any suggestions/thoughts?
I'm a bit confused by the concept of a life time insurance.
Thank you
Hello,
Thanks for posting.
I have a 4 month old and she is quite a challenge. Definitely limiting to me at the moment but as the others says, this should improve. I've been getting up at 6.30 every day since we got her - holidays and weekends of course included as she doesn't know that...
Thanks all. Great ideas! I had only though of forcing treats in to it which doesn't work very well and I was concerned about the peanut butter for the reasons mentioned.
Thank you very much for your replies.
I will try your suggestions.
It's a little hard to understand the treat for getting down as it almost seems to be rewarding the behaviour ....I know what you're saying, that it's rewarding for getting DOWN, but knowing her, she'll do it so she gets the reward!!!
Puppy jumps up with her front paws on the table and on the kitchen work tops.
I've tried a firm "no"....a firm "down"....ignored her....shouted at her....closed her outside....closed her in another room.
What's left to try?
I don't want her on the surfaces as it's the only place we have left...
Hello,
We have a puppy and asked the vet this question.
She said there are 2 schools of thought, those who say before the first season, other say allow her to have one and then do it.
If you don't intend to breed then do it.
Does anyone know if it calms females down?
Thank you all. i think it might be a bit soon to be honest as we're trying to get her in to a routine at home so thinking more about this, it could be disruptive to her perhaps.
What I'll probably do is get a family member to puppy sit at home just for the weekend then when she's a bit older...
Hello All,
We have a puppy, and I'm now thinking if we might be able to have a short holiday....even just a night away. What are your thoughts?
I've seen dog friendly places, but does that mean *puppy* friendly?
Would it be best just to get someone to look after her for a night, or skip the...
hi,
Sorry, I should have been clearer. We were feeding her mince and mixer, cottage cheese and mixer, then moved to royal canin for dalmatians as i was so confused about what a dalmatian should eat that i though this would answer all my questions as they have researched and prepared the right...
Hello,
My puppy has turned poopy too.
It's hard to know the cause....We were feeding raw meat and mixer...then moved to royal canin. the vet has prescribed some tins of food now plus something to restore the good stuff in her stomach. I didn't know about the yoghurt - good idea. The current...
