My problem with raw is I do not know a lot about it, and I am affraid I would do something wrong. I already discussed this with JudyN and she helped me a lot. I read a lot it's the way to go, but I can't really see why it is so good and healthier to our pets. maybe you can help me with your own...
Hello everyone,
Been a while since I post here, I have been betwen jobs so it's been challeging...
I'm going to change zappa's food, thinking of natural greatness, anyone has any fedback on this ???
Thanks
Exactly like that JudyN, but only with this two types of treats (chew treats, one is a crocodile shape treat, and the other is a bone shape but made from cheese). I gave him a deer antler and he loves it, bully sticks (I found them here :D ) he also loves, but this 2 treats he playbowed them ...
Hello again everyone, another question about zappa's behaviour,
I gave zappa a chew treat, but zappa does this weird behaviour, jumping around, whinning, butt in the air like he is playing, gives the treat back to me and barks a little, tail wagging a lot, he seems super happy about it, but...
"Could he possibly be finding something he is not getting in his food?"
I know this is a well accepted theory, but to me it never made any sense... Zappa sometimes eats poo, mud, dirt, dirt water, etc etc... He also eats a well balanced diet (good kibble plus fresh cooked meat and...
trip to the vet: zappa's got his anal glands filled again :( it was the most probable cause)... He's fine now, much more melow and happy ... it seems this will be an issue from now on, every now and then he must go to the vet so he can squeeze them :)
Thanks everyone ;)
He doesnt look constipated, just because he is not even trying to poo.. I already gave him pumpkin (boiled, organic) just to see if he goes, and salmon oil too... should I ask for a x ray? maybe he ate something that he shouldnt?
Will do... It's strange 'cause he normally as a very regular poo schedule :D he is not even trying to poo, and has been licking his but a bit, and sometimes get's surprised and looking at his but :D I'll update later
Zappa's going to the vet in a few hours... But I just realized something, his being doing less poo, and fewer times. Usually 2 times in the morning, 1 in the afternoon, and 1 atnight. he's been doing only 2 times per day, and today he didnt made any... maybe it's related??
Zappa's neutered... I am a male owner :) ... I understand wat you say but at least to me it's ok, not really a big deal. I've read somwhere that dogs don't have a male/female understanding of themselves like we do. And I don't see zappa any different if he was not neutered, I feel the same about...
Another fresh example:the normal play of every night today was like he was on cocaine or something.... it's like he is his normal self but with hyper reactions... strange...
There are a few Veterinary hospitals that can help a lot, and some excellent vets, but they live in the major cities (porto and Lisbon), so, for me, that's difficult....only in a extreme situation
Exactly, that's why I am taking him to the vet. But the chewing on a leg is quite normal on him, but only a few secs, I found him and he chewed for a good minute or so, with no damage, but still....
All day?? for 3 days?? But no, no animal deterrents anywhere....
Another example: I caught him this morning chewing his own paw.... :|
Side Note: As for vets here, a friend's bulldog was not eating, vmiting, and making green poo, the vet just did an xray and sent her home.... I mean, no moore...
