    Seperation anxiety at 11 weeks?

Unfortunately not too much advice on this. I am currently using signs to my dog as she has become deaf but not from birth, she was taught signs with words so made it easier. I have found that to get her attention we have to touch in some way. for example a hand placed on her head to look up...

    Seperation anxiety at 11 weeks?

Hi guys I posted this reply to someone else: For the first couple of nights we slept on the sofa with pup, then after that we left in her bed in the kitchen with an old t-shirt to snuggle with which we had worn to bed for a couple of days so it smelt of us. We only went down once a night to let...

    Desperate for some help

In my experience only used a crate when travelling in the car. I personally don't like dogs in the bedroom so we set up an area in the kitchen all her own with a comfy bed and toys, that way no problem if any accidents as lino floor. For the first couple of nights we slept on the sofa with pup...

Doberman puppy with white flakes in fur and itchy areas

If you decide to change food (whatever you choose) do it gradually over a few days, pups can be extra sensitive to change. Also give it time, you may have similar symptoms but it will take time for anything not so good to leave the system.

Putting a puppy on a diet

There are no fillers in their food, you should read the ingredients and lit before you slate like that. And as for grains that's your opinion. Wheat is bad for dogs but I don't beileve all grains are, they use whole brown rice, oats and barley which are good. Also I find it interesting how...

Fell over new puppy and eneded up in a&e? new!

Don't be put off they are great dogs. Excuseme is right, they can be hard work, but totally worth it. All puppies can be a pains at the beginning but you shouldn't give up on them. Once you can get her outside for walks I'm sure you will see an improvement. Also look at some kind of puppy...

    Young dog going blind

I'm sorry no experience, just wanted to say good luck with everything. I have an older dog going blind and it is frustrating, I would think that it is a positive that he is losing it gradually and at a younger age as he will be able to adapt quicker and quick to learn new skills. Perhaps use a...

    Old dog new barking!

I have a 15 1/5yr old lab. She is not vocal at all, she only ever barks once at the back door when she want's to come back inside if the door has shut behind her. She went deaf over a year ago and this year has begun to lose her sight. She comes to work with me and like to lay on the grass...

Advice on wheat free dog food?

Any compnay not just ones that use grains will say they are the best, they clearly don't beleive in the product if they don't haha. I don't believe all grains are bad. A dog in the wild would eat the stomach contents of prey first to take in the nutrients of what the prey has eaten. I would...

Advice on wheat free dog food?

I feed Natural Dog Food Company, 100% natural dry food not even added artifical vitamns or minerals. It also goes great with raw food additions and as my dog is old and on medication for her heart it is great as it won't react with anything. I would personally look for no wheat/maize/dairy as...

Doberman puppy with white flakes in fur and itchy areas

Hello MrsSwan, it could be a few things but maybe diet related? Usually the skin is affected most by diet issues as it is the largest organ. Perhaps you could gradually change onto a more natural diet? there are plenty to choose from and everyone will have their own opinion, but I feed Natural...

Introducing a new dog to the household

It's a tough one and although I agree with Golden Bear, separation shouldn't be the answer for long. Perhaps once training is sufficient you can go back to them being around each other. Walking together is especially good for creating a bond, it must be a good pace with them focused on the...

    Red lump on lip

I agree with eingana, if it changes at all then a vet check might be useful but otherwise shouldn't worry too much.

Introducing young puppy to older dog.

virgil, sound like you have everything under control! Glad things are working out. The old fella will let you know when he can't keep going but as long as he is in relatively good health and not struggling then keep going. Give him lots of attention (when he wants it). Puppy classes are a...

Most cats will tell the dog it's place however is yours are more passive maybe provide escape routes for them so they won't be cornered or trapped.
