We have been crate training Harley and Joshy since the first day we brought them home, but were just wondering what we do next in respect of getting away from using the crates and letting them have more freedom around the house when we are out???
Does anyone know the best method of doing this...
we walk them for about 1/2 hour in the morning and at lunchtime and then an hour in the evening, it just feels a bit weird to begin with after the lovely runs we had in the summer but what else can you do I suppose, they seem happy enough... :)

Yeah Just to say thanks again to Helen for organising the walk :thumbsup: . definitely count us in for the next one!! Harley and Joshy were both led down with their eyes shut tight before we even pulled out of the driveway to Kingsweston House... -_- -_- ..a peaceful evening had by all...
I agree with everyone else, two is def better than one!!
We got Joshy when Harley was 7 1/2 months old, and I believe it was the best move we ever made.

Today we took the two boys down to the beach at weston super mare well the quiet end of it anyway!
They absolutely loved their first day on the beach and we are all looking forward to many more..... :thumbsup:

I'd also say start with one pup, whippets are the best but so naughty when the mood takes them. :teehee: We started with one but now have two, and everything doesn't seem half as bad the second time around when you know what to expect. But getting whippets was best decision...
Thanks everyone some really handy tips here, :thumbsup: I am the same as everyone else about the liver thing, so much so I just had to buy a new food processor as couldn't bring myself to use the old one i had used for liver!! :x
Has anyone found recipes for any home made treats that our beloved whippies really love. As they used to sell Liver Cake at Harleys puppy class but have since stopped making it and he used to do anything for it...... :p
So if anyone has a recipe for this and the instructions of how to make it...

we had all these thoughts when Joshy arrived and everyone we knew thought we were nuts!!! as Harley was then 7 months old and still a complete handful, the first couple of days were a complete nightmare :o while we all adjusted but I look back now one month...
