Makes me laugh (NOT) sometimes when folks like this get dogs..especially when they are getting on in years (sorry)

theres a lady in the village here who has just lost a little old dog which she could hardly walk herself...relies on others to walk it out for her.

Anyway now its gone, shes only gone and got another one from a rescue......goodness knows who will walk this one.

Some people really dont think enough beforehand what it will be like owning a new puppy...and think they will entertain themselves... :unsure:

Hope you get it sorted Annie, for yourself and that poor pups sake too.

Makes you wonder what the rescue are up to, doesn't it, homing a dog with an elderly person who struggles to walk? (w00t)

One of our locals has taken up dog breeding in the last year (much to my disgust!!!). She has a variety of westies, bichons and yorkies running riot all over the lane outside her house now - barking their heads off at anyone walking by. This is in addition to her collies, JRT and ESS :sweating:

It's like an early warning system for dogs here ........ they start the barking, then the next dog down the lane barks, which then sets mine off and because I live in closer proximity to other houses, it's always my GSDs who get the blame!!!!! :rant:

Unfortunately she is a friend as well as a close neighbour so it is difficult for me to say anything ....... Poacher has already coursed her JRT and put some holes in his neck (but, in her defence, he did come onto my land!!!) :blink:

I am so sorry to hear this. The saddest part for me is that its the little guy thats suffering in all this. He didn't ask to be homed with an old fogey who wouldn't walk him but he will be the one to suffer. :angry:

Rather than fall out with them all over this (considering you have the son close by too) would you consider calling a 'mini meeting'...inviting them round and having a 'gentle' chat with them? Maybe they don't realise (rolls eyes to the sky!!!) that the dog is being annoying. You may have to spell it out clearly that it's not acceptable.

Sorry you are going through this. A friend of mine had the same situation a while ago and in the end they called the council, but that was more for the well being of the dog (German Shepherd) who was basically wandering around a 4ft square garden in his own faeces!!!!!

Why do people act so selfishly when it comes to animals?

is it carnt walk or wont walk the dog they could ues a scotter to take t out i use my electic wheel chair to take mine out so walking no problem but it looks more like carnt be botherd. peopel get theses littel dogs and think they dont need to go out hoprfully there frend down the road can open there eyes to the fact that if it was well exrecsied it wouldnt be barking and they wouldnt ahve to threatne to smakc it

Good point! I see a lady every morning (very early) in her scooter walking her little jack russell. They do make me smile

What gets me is that she has to lean right out of the chair to pick up his 'business' but she does! Then you get others who feel its beneath them!!! but thats a whole new topic!!!!

thats my one rule if i carnt gte the poo i dont take them out hubby does it but a scooper on a stick does the job just fine now even if i carnt gte down sohis couple i recon is more a carnt be botherd than a carnt walk. if you realy want to take your dog out you fined a way and surely that have the pleaseuer of having a dog getting out and about with it.

may be printing some info off about exercciesing shitsues and giving it there frend to pass on to them may help

People just don't think do they?

My next door neighbours got a pup just before last christmas, supposedly as company for the woman while her husband works away 4 days of the week. Well now she is out at work all day & the dog is left alone for at least 8 hours, then when she comes home the back door opens & the poor dog is put outside where she is left alone again for ages, whining at the back door. I'm getting so mad about this but OH won't let me say anything as he doesn't want to fall out with them. As far as I can tell the dog is not taken for many walks, the hubby does take her when he's home but that's not very often. It's really bugging me & I know I'll have to say something eventually. My dogs don't like this dog very much as they've never had a dog next door & she jumps up & has her feet over our fence so mine were getting a bit territorial with her. We have spent £60 on a big solid gate so our dogs can't see theirs so things are better than they were but the poor little thing gets no company at all from them

Like you I'm reluctant to cause problems as to be honest the people are clueless. When I mentioned to them that my dog was likely to have a go at hers (before we put the gate on) she just said it would serve her right for putting her nose through our fence. When the pup was really small she could get through our cat flap on the shared side gate, again she wasn't bothered & we blocked it off for a while in case their dog got through it & escaped. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to have animals.

Oh yes, the woman is having a baby in Sept so I think I can guess where the dog will be living then :angry:
