It was on lead because its a consevation area and that was ok because there is no way Murphy could have resisted that water!
I know I live in a lovely part of the world and I try not to take it for granted but every now and then mother nature gives me a nudge just to remind me. This morning was one of those nudges, it was the kind of morning that makes your soul sing.

It does look so beautiful where you are...

It reminded me of the Somerset levels in one picture, have never been to the Netherlands, looks really lovely!

@Mayblossom most people who visit NL never get much further than Amsterdam or the bulb fields. We are well off the beaten track even Dutch people joke about needing a passport to get here. But this year Leeuwarden (capital of Friesland) is a European city of culture and they are hoping this will put us on the map..
I can understand that work wise as there are very few jobs here but on the other hand looking about, its quite nice to be a bit overlooked by the world tourism trade..

Off the beaten track sounds just perfect ! We’re in Surrey and was only saying this morning about the thousands of cars on the roads, everyone rushing to get somewhere, we were stuck in two traffic jams this morning on the M25...both within 20 miles, nightmare journey !

Beautiful pics! I'm jealous would love to have places like that to walk my dog's :)

Before we moved here we were living near the A3 Near Hook exit so traffic jams were daily life.. Now when I visit family Im shocked at how busy it is..

@arealhuman I do hope you are not one of those riders who squeezes between and zig zags between two lanes of traffic:rolleyes::mad:

I do tend to filter if traffic's slow, it is legal after all ;) I'm not so much a zig-zag person.

Its amazing how many people think lane splitting is illegal, its not providing the riders do it safely and do not cross solid white lines. Im always the driver who allows that bit of room if possible when in motorway queues so that bikes can get through ..Hubby was a biker. Its often more dangerous for them to stand still in a queue than to filter.

Filtering

Yes, there are some drivers who make room, and I always try to acknowledge this with a wave (not always possible). There are also some who go out of their way to bloke your path which really gets me angry. If this happens when riding in a group, it's always nice to swamp the offender with bikes, after all, we can't go anywhere else

Wow, what a lovely landscape. Jealous? Me? YES! :D @Mayblossom - you need two wheels not four ;). Spent the last two days leading a group around the southwest of England and it's great cutting through all the traffic :)
If we could tow the caravan with bikes we would :D
:D We both have bikes but keep off the roads, there’s some lunatics out there. We do have the very annoying lycra brigade who ride 3 abreast on the narrow Surrey roads  they all think they’re Bradley Wiggins ! Before the 2012 Olympics you’d hardly see a bike on the roads and now we can’t move for peletons!

I feel your pain @Mayblossom - a lot of roads around here the cyclists seem to think they're in the Tour de France. I wince when I see them because:
  • Grown men in lycra is wrong.
  • Lycra seems about as protective as tissue paper.
Cyclists, eh? :p
