ISNT NATURE GREAT!!!???

That's brilliant...but who will teach them to swim...and quack (w00t) (w00t)

i do have ducks who roam free with the chickens. It has never been a problem before and as soon as the ducklings are old enough to venture away from the nest they mingle with the adult ducks and learn off them.

no different i guess to those hatched in an incubator and dont have a 'mum'.

this way they get all the love, natural warmth etc and the hen gets the babies she wanted... :huggles:

They are fab, Jordan was telling his friends all about his holding a duckling at 3 hours old

I love that she has taken the ducklings under her wing pardon the pun, bless her :huggles:

thats so cool, what luckly little ducklings to have a mummy hen, you could right a new book "the ugly chicks" better than that ugly duckling story you have really life pics (w00t)

:huggles:

Is it true that even if ducks are reared with chickens, without conatct with other ducks, when they get old enough and come accross water they make a b-line for the water. If so i can just picture mamma chicken as her wee younsters start heading toward the water.....johnny!! johnny!!! get back you'll drown!!! Wee johnny shouts back "don't worry mamma i know i can do it, something on the inside of me just tells me i can swim, yeeehaaa, whooopeee!!!"

That's not a very big pond you've got there (w00t)
its just a little dish for now before they are released into the big pond and the other adult. just enough to wet their little webbed feet and get back out without drowning. :)

they are so comical to watch
