Is the snow really bad where you are?

My husbands work have told him not to bother trying to get in tomorrow (lucky!!!) but I know mine aren't that kind!!!!

Fortunately I have already booked annual leave off (but it'll be a wasted day stuck inside!) so I don't have to struggle in until Tuesday.

Will you be braving the roads to get to work?

My OH is going to be at work overnight tonight, so his problem is far more likely to be getting home, rather than getting to work. On top of that he had to stay overnight on Friday night after his late shift because the night staff couldn't get in, so he did an 18 hour shift then, so if he ends up doing another 18 hours because the morning staff can't get in tomorrow morning then he will be knackered for most of the next week.

I'm lucky enough that I don't have to go out on a daily basis, so apart from getting to the swimming pool and gym for my physio, I'm content to stay in.

You're poor OH! That's terrible! :( I can't imagine doing an 18hr shift... Flippin' ek!!

The good news is that he made it home from his night shift and is currently asleep :)

He chose to do this work, so my sympathy for him is slightly limited. Until 2 years ago he was an accountant and struggled with stress, migraines and IBS. Now he earns half as much, works twice as hard but is happy doing the job, connecting with people and not driving a desk for a living and says he should have taken the step years ago.

That's what counts, being happy in your job. Seeing as we spend most of our lives working, you've got to do something that you can at the very least tolerate hehe

My Dad spent about 30 years working in London as a chartered surveyor. The commuting was terrible for him and we (as children) didnt see enough of him.

He was made redundant a few years ago and eventually got a job at the local council office (still as a chartered surveyor) and is SO happy there! He can walk to work, gets home in good time and loves the people. Less money, but he's so happy!
