Whippets In Kentucky Usa

Iam currently on holidays in the USA staying with a friend in Louisville Kentucky any whippet people in that area that can tell me if there is any whippet shows/events on in that area that would be worth going to see for a visiting Australian tourist?

Don't know about whippets but my aunt lives in Louisville with her Shih-Tzus - you could pop in for a cuppa!

Thats very kind of you. It is very hard trying to find some whippet or all breed shows to go watch. I think that maybe your show season is over? or iam just in the wrong part of the USA! plenty of horse stuff to do though. as my little girl has some american blood lines would of been good to see some american whippets and talk to some breeders while iam here.

I can certainly help you out but the dates of your planned visit would be most helpful! There are a LOT of events in the Louisville, KY area but you have to give me a little more to work with.

As for kennels, Charlotte Lee (Charlamar) is located in Louisville. That is the home of the 2008 National Specialty winner and she has a litter on the ground by her right now and her European import "James". Not far from Louisville is Sabine Salo and Rantina Whippets. They are both very nice ladies and I am sure if they are free they would be happy to take a day to show a visitor their dogs.

Thanks Karen, yes i should of put date in!! Jet Lag Iam afraid the old brain is not in America yet think i must of left it in Sydney!!! I fly out of Lousiville on the 12th of May. If you know of any events that would be great. Tried the whippet club but did not recieve any replies. It would be terrific if there was an all breeds show on that i could go and watch and chat to some people.

Well, unfortunately, if you are there now and leaving on the 12th there is nothing close to Louisville in terms of a dog show.

The best I can find for you is an AKC lure trial in Fairborn, Ohio, which is going to be a good solid 2.5 to 3 hours from Louisville.

I think your best best is to write one of the two breeders I gave you (they have websites--just search for their kennel name + whippet) and ask if you can come out and see some dogs.

Thank you for your help. Have been trying to look up the kennel in Lousiville you mentioned but its been a bit hard finding there web page. Will keep searching. thans again its much appreciated.
