My whippet x has been stolen from my garden on Tues 21st Nov about 8pm. She is a small whippet x brindle colour with a smooth short coat. She is 2 1/2 yrs old and about 18" at shoulder. She has a tear in her left ear and a chip on one of her teeth. She is very friendly. Have informed all usual people but now dont know what else to do. Please if anyone has seen or knows anything please let me know. Me, my kids and our other lurcher are very upset. Area includes Thornaby, Stockton, Ingleby Barwick, Maltby

I'm so sorry to hear this Claire, you must all be devastated.

Make sure you get a crime number from the police, it can make a real difference if you find her and someone else says she is theirs. Tell Police, Dog Wardens. stray kennels, she may get away out of the area, so spread out. Is she 'chipped or tattooed? Inform Dogs Lost, Pesearch and any other internet lost dog site you come across - many have links to each other. Posters, posters and more posters, make her too hot to keep hold of, see if the local radio do a community service section - I would be tempted to say she went missing from your garden when you inform the radio - they sometimes won't broadcast things if they are stolen.

Keep checking back with police and stray kennels - if she ends up there she would only have 7 days for you to find her, send them pics of her so they know exactly what they are looking for.

I'm sure k9ers will add to this, we are very sadly becoming expert at this sort of thing.

:luck: :luck: :luck: I will keep thinking about you, fingers crossed.

So sorry you have lost your dog :(

Do post her details and picture on www.doglost.co.uk

Hope she is home very soon :luck: :luck: :luck:

Hi. Please can you explain what you mean by "Cross posted in non-ped forum for the attention of club racers at Stockton and Maltby". Sorry!

Thankyou for suggestions. Have now got her on Dog Lost with help from a lovely lady. Had a telephone call tonight from the ad in the local paper; a possible sighting of her in Stokesley about 7 miles away. Does sound like her, will check it out tomorrow in the daylight and keep fingers crossed!

I had a phone call from an elderly couple who saw a dog fitting Ash's description last night about 8 miles away, running across playing fields. They saw I had put a lost ad in the locl paper. I went over to the area this morning had a look about, asked the postman and left flyers etc but no luck yet. It did sound like her and got all excited but no more info as yet.
