Am i mad or something for thinking Whippet Racing is a good sport?

Why do you hear all too often of people leaving or threatening to leave?

Ok Whippet racing has it's problems as with any sport, (organisation problems, rules, jealousy, gossip, etc) but i have never once thought about packing in, do i just not take it serious enough?

Ok everyone has different opinions & thats what makes a sport, the fact is these different opinions/ideas all come together & make it what it is!!

I come on this website & rightly or wrongly have my say as do many others whether they agree with me or not i dont really care. I dont agree with a lot of other people opinions but i give them credit for letting us know how they feel, after all it wouldn't be a forum if people didn't keep it going.

I just agree to disagree!!! I wish more people would do the same!!

Now the whole EGM / Kickboards saga has (nearly) finished lets just get on & race our bloody dogs :)

:D WELL SAID VICKY, PEOPLE ARE TALKING THINGS TOO SERIOUSLY, IT IS GETTING BAD WHEN PEOPLE THREATEN TO TACKLE FELLOW WHIPPET RACERS IN FRONT OF OTHERS FOR WHAT THEY HAVE SAID, LIGHTEN UP EVERYONE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE MATES OR HAVE YOU ALL FORGOT.... ;)IT'S GOOD TO DIFFER THAT WAY WE ALL HAVE A SAY DONT YOU ALL AGREE...

:D WELL SAID VICKY ME AND MANDA BOTH AGREE WITH WHAT YOU`VE SAID , WE THINK PEOPLE ARE ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION AND WHO ARE WE TO SAY OTHERWISE :p

i couldnt of put it better myself vicky letts start enjoying our racing again ;)

forgot to say when i said i was thinking of packing in earlier on .i had thoughts about it for a good while before all the carry on over kickboards cant see it happening but ;)

I don't think any one should pack in whippet racing, just smile and hope for a brighter future

( a winner would do ey ) :D

I love whippet racing. The weekends away are even better. All the talk about kick boards wont stop me racing Robbie even just at club level. He was hell to train so im going to race him anyway :D

I LOVE WATCHING ALL RACING DOGS RUN, ITS LIKE A DRUG, I ALSO LOVE PIDGENS, AND FERRETS. BEFORE JADE AND I GOT TIGGER WE TRAVELLED TO ALL OPENS BENDS AND STRAIGHTS FOR A HOLE YEAR TO GET BACK IN THE SWING, AND TO SEE THE BEST OPEN RACERS PERFORM. HOWEVER AFTER OUR FIRST YEAR BACK WITH ALL THIS RUBBISH ABOUT KICK BOARDS , AND THE OUT OF DATE HANDICAP SYSTEM ON THE STRAIGHTS, I REALY WONDER WHY WE BOTHER, I LOVE SEEING THE TOP DOGS RUN BUT I DO NOT ENJOY WAYCHING TWO DOG FINALS IN MOST SUPREEMS AS ALL DOGS OVER twenty four pounds withdraw because they know they THEY CANT COMPEAT.

Looks like im on a groan, sorry im just pissed, but i will still be at all the big events with jade and tigger, and if we win our group we will be happy. but would the ownets of the 18 lb to 24 ib travel all the miles we do only for a weight group i dont think so. there must be a better way.

THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION IS YES WE DO AND HAVE DONE FOR MANY YEARS TRAVELLED TO OPENS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY TO WIN A CLASS WIN, EVEN IN FOG AND SNOW, WE TRAVELLED UP TO NEWCASTLE ONCE WE KNEW WE WOULD NOT WIN THE OPEN BUT WE WERE QUITE HAPPY TO WIN OUR CLASS.. YOU SEE THE BUZZ WAS NOT ONLY WHIPPET RACING BUT MEETING UP WITH ALL OUR FRIENDS.. IT WAS THICK FOG COMING HOME DOWN THE A1... BUT WE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR DAY OUT EVEN IF IT TOOK TWICE AS LONG TO GET HOME....SO COME ON FOLK START ENJOYING AGAIN :D :p ???

as for not winning supremes with anything over 24 lb, i think steve boyd might disagree with you .......also take a look at this years top ten winner, non other than show three .which i might add she did in fine style :D

???

Hi, I can assure you that not all dogs over 24lb withdraw from finals,

our 21lb bitch was injured many times in open finals because of the run offs and mostly at the run in.......we are quite happy to run our dogs at yard a pound and so are a lot more people, there are plenty of races that cater for all, so let's just enjoy what we have got and not ruin it .....

Well gary my old mate its not often you are right , but my new policy is to say that everybody with an opinion on any subject whatever there views are right and as far as the word :b :b wrong its a word i have decied i am not going to use so if you say that the ink is red on this thread you are right!!!!!hows about that then!!!!!we are all right :b :b :b

Hi, I believe whippet racing is a good sport, all whippet people enjoy racing their whippets and meeting up with old friends and making new friends, once we have had the postal vote on kickboards counted and the result given and we can get back to racing and I am sure this issue will be forgotten :D :p
