Rifle, being on restricted exercise at the moment, is wearing his waterproof winter coat more than ever. In the past I have only ever used it on odd occasions. Problem is I obviously made a bad job of measuring him, He is quite a big whippet and I think the coat I ended up buying is more geared to a small Greyhound. Aware I am rambling the problem is that the velcro strap is very close to his 'bits' and, when he cocks his leg he ends up peeing on it! The pee then runs down the strap and he finds the whole process very undignified!! (not to mention messy!!)

:- I've seen various coats with diffent types of fastenings but just wondered, from experience, what suited other people's boys best?

Any measuring tips also gratefully recieved. ;)

All mine have a bluster coat from Hound Smart on ebay :)

My boy, Irie, is a larger whippet, standing at least 21" tts, and the 23" size fits him beautifully without any peeing problems

My Grover is also a big whippie and wears a 23" coat like this from Citycroft. Amazing value for money, very well made and totally waterproof :)) Been washed lots of times and still looks as good as new. In fact, that reminds me, I need to order another for Roscoe! Citycroft Quilted coat

My Archies is from Citycroft too.... a very smart quilted coat and waterproof too...Full marks..

My other two were from Jans Greyhound Gifts......The Blizzard Coat....these too are very well fitted coats with fleece inside

and I think they are excellent too.

I find all my boys pee on their coats be it when they squat or cock their legs, im slowly changing their coats for jumpers to solve the problem :b

Hi Alison, wherever you get his coat from, get it made with the belly band a couple of inches higher up
