Whether it's a hotel, B&B, self catering or campsite, We would love to hear about the best places you've stayed with your four legged companions!

What makes it so special?

The Hanmer Arms in Hanmer, near Wrexham. Over the last 20 years I've had several stays there due to work, and have also taken my family at various stages during the same period. It's changed hands several times over recent years and has reopened again about a couple of months ago, and we stayed there a few weeks back. The village is fairly isolated and very quiet which is a huge plus, the surrounding area is very scenic, and you're only about 5 minutes walk from the mere (a large lake). The food is great there, the rooms comfortable, and of course it's dog friendly. Ellesmere is a short drive away and has some great walks too.

Looks like a lovely country pub full of character! One to add to my list :)

The Red Lion in Hinxton, between Cambridge and Saffron Walden, is a nice dog friendly place to stay. Both this and its sister pub the Black Bull in Balsham are proper quite old pubs but with new build separate bedroom blocks. Dogs allowed in bedrooms and the bar area. The staff suggested it and they set up a table in the bar where we could have an evening meal with the dogs, and the same at breakfast. A very enjoyable short break while I visited family.

Thanks for this @Biker John - will add it to my list of places to visit!

We are biased as we own two in South Devon that welcome unlimited dogs are we allowed to suggest them?
