where and when can I race?

Hello everyone!

I'm a newbie here and I have looked at all the info available for westhoughton and tyldesley and so last Sunday we went to westhoughton for a look. Unfortunately we were told that not much racing of whippets happens there. I thought that maybe things would pick up in summer which may be better for me as I would have to build my dog up as she had pups in December. I would love to take her racing as we used to go to trials at Chorley which she loved but because she isn't registered I had to stop taking her. I would also like to keep a pup for future racing and of course as a much loved pet! and my freind who is also having a puppy wants to come along too! Can anyone give me an idea of when they plan to race at westhoughton? I'd love to go and watch whippets race and Tyldesley is a little awkward for me on a wednesday night.

The whippets ran one race last night at westhoughton between the greyhound racing, Tyldesley run every saturday (if thats any better than wednesday). Westhoughton is not a regular thing because of the low turn out & not many people tend to bend race during the summer months.

Just keep chicking out the Westhoughton WRC page for when racing is on.

There is ped racing at Coppull but i think you said your dog wasn't registered & i'm pretty sure your not allowed to race with the other peds if your not registered.

I did try to e-mail you in person but I don't think it was sent I can't remember if I was registered or not! I tell you 8 puppies has you meeting yourself coming backwards! Buffy isn't registered but when we went to look at Chorley a few years back, Mark kindly let us trial her to see if she liked it. If your reading this Mark thanks, for the experience and Happy Birthday!! :cheers: I really wish I could register her but Buffy's mum is not because owner quote 'couldn't afford the extra £20!!!' :- " So I was delighted when I found this site as I didn't know there was non-pedigree racing. Thanks again!
