Need some pointers here. Will usually find me on the general discussion forum, but lets face it, she's a whippet and we all like to see them after a rabbit don't we? Thing is Im sure between the two of us we are doing something wrong cos she never manages to get any. Well not quite true - she has had three! One a genuine chase, the second one she 'tripped over' in the long grass, and the last one she nicked off a stoat! None of the bunnies round us seem to want to cooperate at all - they stick close to their holes and bugger off as soon as we appear. Whats the bobby? Should we be going out at night with a torch? :b

Not an easy question to answer, mine do the same as the fields are small and the bunnies can make a quick dash to cover. We do have the odd catch, Dylan when he concentrates and watches has caught a couple, Pecker is too old now, but has a go!

So you are not alone! Early morning is a good time, or dusk, that is what I have found, it also depends on the weather, good luck.

The best time to get close to rabbits is late at night with the aid of a high powered lamp or at day break the reason for this is rabbits graze from their warrens & move further out in to the open as they graze & so will be out in the middle of the field the later at night you go. your other choice is get a ferret put it in the warren & chase the bolted rabbits.
