What kind of Vaccination do you give your dogs?

Hi All,

I took Megan for her 1st annual booster today and she was given Quantum 7 DAzpi/CPV. Has anyone ever heard of it. She had already had her puppy jags which was DHPPI and NOBIVAC.

The vet I took her to said it was just a different brand. But now I am a bit worried I never searched around for a vet that done the initial brand. Has anyone had a similar experience and do you think it matters as the vet said it definitely didn't, but I just worry about reactions etc.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated as I will now worry all night :unsure:

I wouldn't worry at all. It's a different brand but it is essentially a very similar product. She's no more or less likely to have a bad reaction to this than if she'd been given the Nobivac. The vet wouldn't change brands if they thought they were going to make their patients sick - that's NOT good for business!

I my experience vets will change to which brand is the cheapest, That way they make more money out of us there customers WHOM THEY ALREADY RIP OFF :rant: :rant:

At risk of opening a can of worms, the vaccine which Kirsty's dog was given is one which many practices are moving towards, because it provides immunity against coronavirus. This bug is being implicated as a complicating factor in some recent parvovirus outbreaks. For this reason many vets feel it would be negligent NOT to use it routinely. Incidentally, to my knowledge it isn't any cheaper than DHPPiL2 from Nobivac.

That's all I have to say for the moment, I'd better get back to polishing the Merc. )

Must admit that I cringed when I saw this thread title. Which isn't the right reaction at all but says a lot about how topics on vaccination go.

BTW ILKC my vet drives an Audi sports car. Now don't be polishing your Merc too hard or bits might fall off it.

It's only a Merc in my imagination ... in reality it's a nine year-old 1.3L Escort ... if Hills Science Diet insulted me by bribing me with that I'd be changing to Waltham in a flash :lol:
