What Do You Rear And Train Your Dogs On?

Do you use dried dog food?

If so, which brand do you think is best and why?

Do you rear your youngsters on dried food?

Would you easily swap one brand for another?

I feed my dogs on meat, mixer biscuits and vegetables with gravy and would never use complete foods of any sort.

i dont like complete food, ours have tinned winalot and asda's own mixer

when racing regular ours have australian formula the youngest is still on australian formula puppy and sapling although if im honest i would prefer to feed meat veg etc but its just so easy and quick to feed dry complete feeds.

Mine run on Red Mills Racer or Tracker depending on if they are running or resting. They have a spoonful of tinned food on top

Mine have meat, minced beef or lamb, tripe, meaty bones, sprats, wholemeal biscuit mixer, cod liver oil, veg,usually raw spinach leaves, the odd carrot.

More meat then biscuit. They are carnivores and would eat mostly meat.

I don't feed any complete now.

Mine have a mixture... about a third, Red Mills, third raw meat, tripe beef or chicken and third garden veg. breakfast is a little red Mills, plus scrambled egg, sardines fish fingers or meat.

my two will eat anything

Mixer biscuit, sold in supermarkets and elsewhere, small pieces of hard baked biscuit, it adds a bit of bulk to a meat only diet, and if it isn't soaked, helps slightly in keeping plaque build-up down.

Mixer is as nutrient loaded as say a rich tea biscuit. Dried feed, or complete meal is designed to provide proteins and nutrients as per your requirement (different qualities depending on if you are feeding a veteran, puppy, working dog, etc etc) And the reason mixer is so much cheaper than complete meal is because it contains very few of these!

It is, however, by it's nature high in carbohydrates which although not desirable in large measures, are never-the-less essential to have in some way - and you get very few in a meat only diet (although that depends on how you define "meat")
