If so, which brand do you think is best and why?

Do you rear your youngsters on dried food?

Would you easily swap one brand for another?

:unsure: WHEN REARING PUPPIES I FEED JAMES WELLBELOVED UNTIL THERE'RE ABOUT SIX MONTHS, THEN I GRADUALLY SWITCH THEM ONTO SUPADOG ACTIVE. I ALWAYS SOAK THE FOOD REALLY WELL AND ADD ANY VEG THAT I HAPPEN TO HAVE IN. SO FAR THEY'VE ALL THRIVED ON IT AND AFTER HAVING TRIED NUMEROUS MAKES OF FOOD, SOME OF WHICH THEY WOULDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO EAT, THEY ALL SEEM REALLY HAPPY AND HEALTHY. THEIR COATS ARE SHINY AND EYYES ARE BRIGHT. WHAT MORE COULD I ASK FOR, BESIDES WHICH IT WON'T BREAK THE BANK! :thumbsup:

use REDMILLS for all my dogs wouldnt use anyting else and i have tried them all.

my last 2 pups were brought up on puppy gain then adult gain and my next puppies will b brought up on it too. like someones already said their coats r shiny and their eyes r bright. they also get meat, fish, tuna, weetabix, bananas etc. non racers get red mills maintenance along with meat/pasta/fish etc

not everyones choice BUT being the only food mum Tillie would eat my two were reared on Bakers chicken and SKINNERS PUPPY MILK , later changed onto Alpha which didn't suit Duffy as she has a gluten intollerance so changed to GAIN 20 which I find suits them well with added veg, pilchards etc and weetabix for breakie

tried James Wellbeloved, Eukanuba (which I allways used in the past ) Red Mills, phebo etc but found they look well and are performing well on Gain so I'm happy with that

can tell by what comes out from what goes in if its ok :wacko:

Every body got there own ideas I happy with beta greyhound active it suit my work life but if I got time I would boil up stews and brown bread or cheap mixer my to baby bitch I feed them on any freebes I get my hands on they having a tins rice pudding a day and loving it licking there lips

the pups get fed on sheepheads, beef, raw tripe, fresh veg, fresh tomato,s, brownbread, weetabix honey, porridge, goats milk,chicken, and the only thing a dog can,t produce naturally is potassium which is why fresh tomato,s are given, then they are sent to debbie,s for training and get redmills, poor buggers ,

ours get trophy working dog 24%, £16.40 15kg.there active is£40 (w00t) find the working dog just as good.

weetabix and a half,honey,50% milk/water some vits,lunch 1/2 cup of trophy,1/2 spoon tree bark powder(for tummy troubles)

5pm 1/2 cup trophy pilchards tomatos,our butchers dog mince great stuff heart,liver and mince aprox 15% fat feed it raw this when they are racing. 2lb for £1 could it it your self slice of brown bread.

2/3 times a week get a tooth chew thing.

IF WE'RE ALSO DISCUSSING BREAKFASTS THEN THERE ARE LOADS OF WAYS TO REAR PUPPIES. I START MINE OFF ON FARLEYS' RUSKS AND SMA GOLD WITH ADDED HONEY. I THEN PROGRESS THEM ONTO WEETABIX, OR SIMILAR AND GRADUALL Y REPLACE THE SMA WITH GOATS' MILK. AS THEY GROW I THEN INTRODUCE SOYA MILK AS ITS LOW IN FAT BUT HIGH IN PROTEIN WITH NONE OF THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH COWS' MILK. SO FAR I'VE ONLY GOT ONE WHO CANNOT TOLERATE SOYA, BUT AS SHE SEEMS TO THRIVE ON DILUTED COWS' MILK AND IS PRODUCING GOOD RACE RESULTS, I SEE NO REASON TO CHANGE. ON TOP OF THE CEREAL ETC., I GIVE THEM ALL A TEASPOON OF LIVE YOGHURT, WHICH I'VE FOUND KEEPS THEIR GUT BALNCED AND HAS THE ADDED BENEFIT OF LESS "WASTE", IF YOU FOLLOW MY DRIFT! :wub:

to ween puppies of the bitch i give them tins of baby food and farley's rusks soaked in diluted goats milk also tinned rice pudding ( anything a new born baby would eat ),then later they are gradually introduced to beakfast cornflakes. dinner vitalin royal with sardines or cooked mince or chicken ,pasta, tinned tomatoes ,grated raw veg. added vitamins in my opinion are not needed when they are adults. :thumbsup:

:thumbsup: I COULDN'T AGREE MORE! IF YOUR DOG IS GETTING A GOOD, ALL ROUND DIET, THE ADDING ANYTHING ELSE ISN'T REQUIRED! SOMETIMES I AM AMAZED WHEN I HEAR THE LIST OF ADDITIVES THAT ARE FED, ROUTINELY TO SOME DOGS. IT'S A WONDER SOME OF THEM DON'T RATTLE AS THEY COME UP THE TRACK!

Weaning pups get scrambled eggs, porridge. weetabix and pedigree puppy with goats milk +/- whelpi till they can move onto beef mince with broth and a soaked kibble (my preference being Royal Canin)

They'll gets bits of all kinds to try as well like carrot sticks, duck or chicken (basically I just buy bigger joints of meat for us and share it out)

Adults get staple beef mince, veg, tomatoes and rice along with various kibble depending on the dog. E.g. Oldies will get James Wellbeloved / Wainwrights and some Royal Canin.

Racers will get Royal Canin and either Aussie or Red Mills Racer with their broth,

Youngsters will get Royal Canin with their broth.

They all get broth for breakfast and treats at tea time (usually tripe sticks or paddwack but pet shop is doing special home made treats like steak or liver which they're loving!)

Joey is 15 yrs old and becoming a fusspot! current penchants are Lloyd Grossman's chicken soup, Chilli, Chicken breast, black puddings and basically anything that helps smuggle in some kibble with broth! :lol
