Yes 13 months is deffinately to young, most recomend 2 years minimum which I would whole heartedly agree with.

Your 13 month is still very much a baby herself so waiting another year will give her a chance to mature both physically & mentally. :thumbsup:

shes not mine, theres no way I would do that, this bitch has had 7 puppies born I am just a bit gobsmacked by it that someone would do it

Nothing surprises me anymore. People just don't seem to care about their dogs.

its different to using a young male say because all the stress and change that a young bitches body has to go through before shes mature even isnt imo worth the risk, its fraught enough and taxing enough on a strong mature bitch, and personally I think whippet bitches are still acting immature at 2yrs old let them have their childhood

Sorry thought it was your dog, I so wish there was a ruling of a minimum age of 18 months before the pups were registered. I would prefer an older minimum but that is my preferance. :thumbsup:

I think this link(which i can't see either as i'm not a member) is about Mally supposedly having a litter from Mo,who's only 11 months old!

To put the record straight,she most certainly has NOT had a litter.I saw her only a couple of weeks ago when i went to see Vixens litter :thumbsup:

There is a litter in this quarters BRS, mother born Jan 09, pups born Apr 10, 6 in the litter.

Imo,2 years old is early enough for a bitch to have her first litter!!

The BRS is a quarterly booklet produced by KC with all the pups for a particular group which have been regisered in that quarter.

The info printed is name of breeder, date pups born, sire, dam, dams DOB & previous litter(if applicable), with running total of litters & pups.

It then details the name of the pup, it's sex & colour, it then lists the litter mates. It also contains any dogs which have been transfered, imported, exported, dogs which have won their stud book number, CC, JW, ShCM. It is quite interesting & costs £6 per group each quarter.
