I have panacur worming liquid to worm my pups with,

they are now 16 days old, so just over 2 weeks.

its says on the box worm pups at 2wks and 5 wks old

some of the pups havent opened their eyes fully yet

is 2weeks too young and should I wait until they are 3wks?

dont want to upset their tummies, they are just being fed by mum still.

she was wormed 2 weeks before she gave birth

thanks for any advice/info

I would worm them at 3 weeks and then at 9 weeks before they leave home

well they are going into rescue at 8 weeks.

and i have homes for 2 that are going at 7 weeks, to two good friends.

7 weeks is a bit too young to be leaving home really (imo) but if they are then it will be the responsibility of the new owner to carry on with the worming.

I wormed Molly's pups at 2 weeks old and then every two weeks until they were 8 weeks old as per the instructions on the Drontal Oral Suspension for puppies (although I gave them Panacur liquid when they were 2 weeks old - hellish messy  )

They are born with a worm burden and this will multiply significantly as soon as they start to take solids so it is best to evacuate them before that happens

when we had a litter of yorkies about 5 yrs ago

i didnt worm them until 4weeks, but their poo had worms in them just before i got to worm them

they were quarantined off, and the bleach came out were they poo'd until the worming liquid kicked in

and their poos were ok, i know can carry eggs in poo as well.

i will do them this week them with the panacur. and a syringe

will be a two man job & a messy one as you say :clown:

The Panacure paste is the better one for pups, less messy and easy to administer too...comes in its own syringe.

My friends litter was done every 2 weeks also.

Some good advise given here . Worm every 2 weeks from 2 weeks of age , till they are 12 weeks old , then every 3 months , as already said ALL puppies are born with worms , carried from the mother , even if she has been regually wormed too

I don't understand when you say two are going to friends and the ret into rescue??? I take it you can't find homes for the rest????? Yes, worm every two weeks as as has been advised on here, from two weeks!

no i have rescue spaces for ALL nine!

but two friends from another animal forum have offered homes for two of the pups.

that leaves seven that are going to rescue instead of nine.

I think lukkylady very kindly gave the Mum of these pups a good home when she was already in whelp.  Well done to her for taking on a bitch in whelp and rearing the pups.
