Is it just me or has anyone else noticed there are no wasps about this year? I've seen laods of bees in the garden but no wasps. Not that I particulary want to see the nasty bad tempered little creatures but I've noticed I'm not constantly telling Jasper not to chase he wasps.

:D I haven't seen a wasp this year, and I spend 3 days a week gardening. Nice for us and the dogs of course, but maybe other pests will flourish with no wasps to compete. We are in Essex, I might just have to look in the baker's  as they always have wasps in the window , looking at the cakes. If they have none then there must be a problem.

It is a bit early yet ... wasp nests proper are rarely established before mid June so I wouldn't worry/celebrate just yet, it may just be that the queens were running a little late this year coming out of hibernation.

I work in a pottery factory were it is very hot. We normally have wasps in there all year round but this year we haven't seen any. We have just done are big clean up as we're now shut down for 2 weeks. We usually fing loads of dead wasps but I didn't see any thats what made me think about not seeing any. I probably am a bit early. I'm just used to seeing them all the time.

saw my first wasp today.... as it was stinging poor Amos's face and lips :(

he looks a bit jackie stallone now

My Mum went to the Crem yesterday and there was

a wasp's nest near my Nan's headstone. The wasp's

were all on the move so it must be their time to

start now.

I went in our local pet shop today and asked the guy how much pet wasps were - He told me not to be so stupid, they don't sell wasps.

Boy, did he look an idiot when I pointed out that he had some in the window.

I saw my first one at the weekend

They never really bothered me before but.................

I got stung by one last year and still have the scar to show. My poor dog stood on one last year and went into a collapse, i felt so helpless trying to rouse him, i really thought he might die - it was really frightening
