Just been on the Racing Post site and there is news on the virus affecting greyhounds , sorry I am no good at links

It says the kennels affected have been visited and swabs taken ,results of PM's on the dead dogs should be known soon and there have been no more reported cases.

I will add that the advice against infection is wise to follow , we always keep food and water bowls only for that individual dog ,writing the name on the side with a bright coloured nail varnish ,when we had 40 racing dogs it was a pain to do but my god did it stop the spread of infections such as tonsillitis which is spread so quickly from food and drinking bowls.

There's been a few discussions both in ped and non-ped racing forums but I think everyone should stay in the know about this.

I contacted NGRC for advice and guidelines for our race event last Sunday as we race on greyhound tracks. They was very helpful and a list of their guidelines can be printed off from the attached link for those interested.

NGRC Press release

To be honest I think we all should be practising the recommendations not just at race events but at lurcher shows, dog shows, agility events etc.
