I'm sure many of you give donations to various rescues. One option is to sponsor a particular dog. I know Dogs Trust runs a sponsorship scheme. I believe Tia and Evesham greyhound/lurcher rescues also have sponsorship schemes. I just got an email about a sighthound sponsorship scheme, http://www.sighthoundsonline.org.uk/forums...hp?showforum=54 ; you will need to register to get access to that site.

:)

I've been to the sighthounds online site and sponsored Tipp, a lovely black and white lurcher girl

Just bumping this as after initial interest in the sponsorship, it has waned a bit :(

You don't have to sponsor the full amount (75 quid), just give what you can and then all the people who have sponsored up to the total of 75 will share the dog :) There are still some lovely dogs left to sponsor and MY Tipp still needs a few more quid - who wants to share her with me??!

Sponsoring a dog is a fantastic way to help dogs in rescue.

Oldies Club also have sponsor dogs, including Benji my own little permanent foster dog  These are the dogs who come to us with serious/long term health problems and can't be rehomed. We support them in foster homes and pay all their vet costs for the rest of their lives. A lot of people give our sponsor packs as presents.

If people particularly want to support sighthounds Tailends do wonderful work with the very old/ill greyhounds who can't be rehomed via a normal rescue:
