Hello everyone.

As Des Feagan (milton keynes vet) is going back to OZ lucky man, does anyone know of another good vet that knows about the racing whippet? If you feel you could recommend one who knows his/her stuff I would be very grateful.Oh yes and as I live in Milton Keynes this is a real blow for me!!!! :(

Yes even whippet people live in Milton Keynes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :))

Hi Chris. I can't blame Des for going back to Australia but he has left us all not knowing who to go to. I've heard he won't recommend anyone either. Probably being diplomatic ;)

Shame he can't take us all with him really. Or we could kidnap him and keep in a cupboard - only letting him out when one of us needs him :D

i saw des on monday and he has someone taking over his clinic so why not give him a go,unfortunately i dont know the guys name but i,m prepared to give him a go as he's reasonably local for me.and it keeps carol employed :D :D

;) Thanks Jeff

I wonder who he is (w00t) and where he comes from!!!!!!! But yes I would try him out, as its only up the road. Mind you I hope I wont need to?

Ahhhhh! But the thing about Des is he was a greyhound specialist. is the new guy/woman ?

Have posted this topic on www.globalgreyhounds.com

A few `specialist` names DENNIS BEARY and DENNIS CRONIN, both based in the Midlands have come up and when I get their details I will post them.

Don't suppose you know of a good greyhound specialist in the South West do you Martin ?

I don't mind if he isn't called Dennis :D

Dennis Beary. Hallamford Road, Shepshed, Leic. 01509 507080. Will also have a practice at the new Coventry Greyhound track.

Dennis Cronin. Tipton. Midway between Birmingham and Wolverhampton. 0121 5222118.

If I get any other names I will post later.

Best of luck to you all in the coming season. Hopefully I will try and get over for an Open or Championship meeting.

Sorry to hear you're loosing your good vet but your loss is our gain. Do you know where in Oz he will be. It's always worth knowing where a good whippet vet is. They're scarce on the ground, especially over here!

Hi Chris,

You may want to give Davies White Veterinary Specialists a call. They are based in Higham Gobion which is probably less than 5 miles from MK. They recently carried out reconstructive sugery on my seventeen month old bitch (whip).

Don't have the number to hand right now but if you want it let me know.

Des was my vet too.... I travel from Rugby for him to treat my retired greyhounds.

I don't know where else to take them.

I would be interested in the Coventry Stadium surgery as its only about 20 minutes drive, but do you know when this will happen or who will be the vet?

My dogs are overdue for their injections!

Cheers

:( Sherri
