If any of you want to save all the used stamps that we get on Christmas Cards and send them to me in the New Year , I know a lady who collects them for Guide Dogs for the Blind

I already have quite a large amount that I've been saving and would be happy to post them to you if you want to PM your address.

I'll save you mine Jax, I used to save them for someone and they gave up so I've not bothred, I'll bet I chucked stacks away.

What do Guide Dogs do with them Jackie? What value is there in used stamps? I'm not being a naysayer - I just don't know and I'm asking to be educated.

TBH Im not sure Lana ,

Maybe they clean them up for stamp collectors . It been a practise thats been going on for as long as I remember. I wil try to find out though

Just googled it , and look who posted a reply !!

•Subject to the condition, origin and face value of the stamp, a resale value can be established and the charity will sell them on to a broker linked with the philately fraternity. Stamp collecting is still very popular throughout the world and becoming more so with the use of pre-franked envelopes.

•Oxfam sells stamps to collectors through its shops with specialist Stamp Deparments. There are over 60 Oxfam shops across the country which have recruited specialist volunteers who sort, value, package and price the stamps.

Scary or what !!!!!
