Umbilical Cord Hernias

Hey all - just wondered if anyone has any stories/info around umbilical cord hernias (nothing too guesome please!)? Saw the vet today who said that they are no problem, can just go away on their own or else get it done when the puppy is spayed.

our Forrest had one when he was born it took some time but its completly gone by itself with no problem hes 2 next month and there no trace of it. people said it was the bitch over chewing the cord when the pups were born but lacey forrest mums had a c section its just one of them things. my vet did say wheile he was tiny to masarge it back a few times a day we did dont know if it did any good

I've had Tibetan Spaniels with them, and they've caused no problems at all, if possible we've always pushed them back in often and they sometimes disappear altogether as the dog grows...

Jinny has a very tiny umbilical hernia which doesn't bother her at all.

The mother of my lurcher pups had a hernia the size of a large golf ball. This has now been surgically corrected with no problem at all :thumbsup:
