Hi All, just read online that Tryplase capsules are going to be out of stock until June 2013!!! Pancrex is also out of stock so I assume they are having the same problems with supply. I've had to switch to enzymes from chemeyes.co.uk for our 3 year old GSD, seem to be working great so far and they're stronger than the tryplase caps, I haven't properly worked out the dosage but they're a hell of a lot cheaper than the branded products too!

Hi Northolm, we tried that one too but with the lipase content being so low we didn't find it worked at all - could be because GSDs are big dogs though, might be OK for smaller breeds? I was initially attracted by the price though but I guess there is a reason it's so cheap

We have lots of GSD's on it but it depends on why you are using a pro enzyme. It has over 5500 USP per teaspoon but has more protease and amalyse than tryplase. Lipase is the unit in the formula that breaks down the fats so depending on your dog's problem will depend on the suitability. It will also depend on the fat content of what you feed, if its high in oils that dont break down easily enough may be reason the product isn't suitable

Another thing that you could try, especially as your lad is a GSD and GSDs do so well on raw food, is to go the natural route and feed raw pig pancreas in a measured doses to get the same result. I know several people who have EPI sheps who now don't have any artificial enzymes and just add pancreas to their normal daily raw diet.
