Trouble With My Camelia

a huge camelia i have in a pot has had a bunch of "appleby horse fair types" ermm infesting the leaves. ive tried a few sprays and stuff but with no success.

what are they and how to i capture the leader torture him then do his mates and family ? garden geeks...HELP ME ITS LIKE "APPLEBY" ON A SMALL SCALE !!

maybe in true "Appleby fashion" they will drown each other in plant sap? problemo solved :thumbsup:
 
I dont know what they are but can yu let me know when you find out - all the flowering cherry trees in our road have got them on the very ends of the branches - its made all the end leaves all curl up and go black
 
I think they're Rosy Apple aphids. If they are they'll move to their secondary host (docks) very soon. It's been a very bad year for them, I've had them all over my pears which is unusual. I wouldn't bother spraying, it's almost impossible to spray under all the leaves.
 
Not sure what they are. I have several camellia's and not had this problem. Can't you squash the things? I am not in favour of using sprays unless I am absolutely desperate.
