very informative Debs . I used to fetch mine from the slaughter house every Monday morning for my Greyhounds, Most days I would have to wait until they had killed the animals (w00t) , it was THAT fresh . Sadly the cattle market is now indivdual units , garages etc .

Some times I wuld get the `manifolds` as well , They are the part of the stomach that has all the grass in , a bit messy at times :blink:

Yep, we've used that as well known as 'bible tripe' I think - a lot of the hunt kennels use it but it is bloody messy :x

Yes,i too remember the days when i used to go to the slaughterhouse & have to wait for the cattle to be slaughtered,& i also used to get "bibles".

A block of flats has now been built where the abbatoir used to be
