I went to see a friend where I used to live and she said that a dog walking friend's neighbour who lives in a one bed flat, no garden and usually "away with the fairies" has just got an Akita puppy at 4 weeks old.

What was the breeder thinking,I have asked her if she can find out more and have contacted someone in the breed but obviously nothing can be done. I can see this pup being trouble as it grows up. I am glad that I am not living near there now.

If this pup's owner is 'away with the fairies' do you think that perhaps it could be 4 months rather than 4 weeks  It it is genuinely 4 weeks then I think the breeder should be shot

Oh, I hate to hear this sort of thing !! Doesn`t it make your blood boil !! Poor little puppy. It happens in every aspect though. I brought home a 9 week old guinea pig who was pregnant..she had become pregnant at 3 weeks old...how can people do this !!

 WHAT WAS THIS BREEDER THINKING OF :( AT FOUR WEEKS OLD THAT POOR PUPPY SHOULD STILL BE WITH ITS MOTHER I REALLY HOPE SHE GETS SOME SERIOUS HELP WHEN THIS PUPPY HITS ADOLESCENCE OTHERWISE SHES GOING TO BE IN REAL TROUBLE :( POOR PUPPY

OMG would it really hurt to wait 4 or more weeks more

That is cruel

Makes you wonder doesnt it (w00t) I dont mind so much the small flat with no garden as long as the dog is walked. I personall would never have a dog and no garden but I know lots of people do and manage ok. Wonder if it is only 4 weeks old and not just chinese whispers. I hope for the pups sake they are wrong.

As for the guinea pig getting mated at 3 weeks, believe me it can happen a litter brother can mate his sister at that age. If you are not quick to take the boys out you can have accidents. In the past I have had sons mating mothers before I have seperated them at 4 weeks. Thank heavens pups arent like that :D

It 4 weeks as it was seen, the lady said thatshe had had the pup for a week and it was now 5 weeks old.

Our KC rule is that puppy cannot be sold before it is 8 weeks, but most breeders keep them lot longer. Isn't there anything like that in the UK? would be asking questions why is it that this puppy was separated from his mum at 4 weeks, that is the age I only just start teaching mine to lap. :(
