Pup’s been with us just over a week now and when he arrived, he was ace. Wanting and asking to go outside etc. Only a couple of little wee incidents when he got super excited.

But, in the last couple of days, he’s decided that inside is the place to do everything!

Trying to take him out often and lots of praise for doing his business outside. But it seems to be getting worse.

He is only 9 weeks so I know still a baby, but it’s gone backwards. Is toilet training regression a thing? Normal? Or are we doing something wrong? I even cleaned the carpet today in case it was a ‘scent’ thing.

Help!!

Thanks

It could be as simple as the weather being slightly cooler or damper, or him just feeling more secure and comfortable indoors. Just keep doing what you are doing, take him out more than he needs to keep his bladder and bowel empty, huge praise and reward for outside toilets and ignore any accidents inside.

If you think he is weeing more frequently you could pop a sample into the vet to make sure there's no UTI.
