Here are the two cheeky boys Otto and Albie :) Albie nearly pulled my arm out of the socket on his lead but the minute they were off the lead they were amazing! Their recall was spot on. Although I did get the occasional surprise leap from Albie. Who has rather a hard head!

.

the Visela boys look remarkably like Viszlak. :p Hmm.

some breed history on the near-extinction & revival of Viszlak, 3 separate times:
A Bit of Vizsla History - Chapter 1 | Toldin

No one is certain if Weims were among the breeds used post-WW1 to re-establish the Viszla breed [Weims were outcrossed to Viszla, tho] - English Setters were definitely among the Viszla outcrosses, as were GSPs & GWPs - hence the occasional birth of longhaired Viszla pups [Setter coats], & the development of wirehaired Viszla.
In 1920, the Trianon peace-treaty splintered Hungary, & suddenly large numbers of dogs were on the wrong side of new national borders. Again, a genetic bottleneck. :( // Breed numbers collapsed again during & after WW2; thankfully, Viszlak are now well-established & widely distributed around the world, so the breed is not at risk.
