Toy: Dogs referred to as toy are usually the very smallest of dogs. This group can be one of several dog types. Some are ancient lap dogs and some are very small versions of hunting dog, spitz (a type of dog characterised by long, thick and often white fur) or terrier type. These have been bred down to create a pet of convenient size. They should have friendly personalities and love attention.


Examples include: Bichon Frise, Chihuahua, Italian Greyhound, Maltese, Pomeranian, Chinese Crested, Pug and Yorkshire Terrier.
