Had a very nice relaxing day yesterday at the Sporting Whippet clubs of Northern Irelands 3rd show of the year. Although the rain was not kind to us,it still did not dampen the spirits of the whippet people who turned up to support the show.
The show started with the childrens handling class. These little people never cease to amaze me.They all go into that show ring, and walk their dogs with such vigour and pride. In their liitle hearts they ask for nothing in return, only to make their parents proud of them and their little eyes light up with joy if they get a rosette or a trophy. A very special congratulations to 3 little people who won trophys yesterday.
1/ Jamie Doherty
2/ Graham Meek (Junior)
3/ Abbie Fyfee
Congratulations to all the children who took part, you are all winners, and the show organisers of tomorrow.
A big congratulations to all the winners,And especially
to:
Phillipa Robinson with Dochas who won Overall Best in show. Dochas is a beautiful whippet, with all the qualities of a champion. Well done Phillipa and Dochas.
And John Mc Stay with Patch who won Reserve Best in show. Patch is taking after her mother Silver who has won many trophys over the years. Patch is a wee cracker. Well done husband and Patch.
Also in the Racing Congratulations to :
Grade A Winner : Jason Dunwoody with Maggie. This Whippet is a real flying machine and an all rounder, and done Jason proud on the day. She flew up that course like a butterfly and crossed the line with flying colours. Well done Jason and Maggie. Maggie never lets you down .
Grade B : Patsy Mc Coy with RIO. What can I say about this dog that I have not said before, and that will do him justice. RIO has won many races and proved his worth many times over in his young life so far, and hopefully will go on to win many more. RIO you are a star, and keep that winning streak going.Patsy was one happy man last night.Well done Patsy and RIO
Grade C : Charlene Rafferty with Spring. This Whippet is a force to be reckoned with. One top racing whippet there, another wee flying machine. Grade A and B,beware, Spring will be definately graduating into Summer and will be taking top place very shortly. Congratulations Charlene and Spring.
Many thanks to the Chairman and committe for another great family day out. Tracy Gill and Bluebell were there with there cameras and no doubt some lovely photographs will appear shortly. The show would not be possible without a judge.Paul Reynolds was the judge on the day,a gentleman who certainly knows his Whippets. Paul has won many prestigous trophys himself over the years with his winning whippet, Slaney Finn and still winning. Paul you done a great but difficult job on the day with impeccable precision. Many thanks for that. A great day was had by all, and I am looking forward to the next show.
