I'm wondering if it's normal for pups to go off their food while they're teething? I've noticed that a whole bunch of Taschas baby teeth are missing, and the adult ones are pushing their way through, but she's gone right off her food. She isn't fed on hard food, so it's not that it's hurting her mouth.

Apart from that, she's full of the joys of spring, and loving her run around and walks. Some pics from today.

She's looking lovely Andrea :* .........It's not uncommon for pup's to go off their food whilst teething as the gum's are so sore ........so I wouldn't worry too much..... she'll be ok, and when she's feeling less sore she'll start to eat you out of house and home just to make up for it

Yes Oscar went off his food slightly whilst teething Andrea. Poor little girl - Im sure she will be fine when she gets throught it.  Tascha looks lovely btw.

its normal andrea,i used to rub bonjela on my pups gums if they looked really red and sore.or put a carrot in the freezer for a while then give it to her to chew.itll cool them down

urm... i think even having no teeth wouldn't stop Ten from eating :p

Wow Cleo's growing Sparky too - shes lovely.

That was not Tasha surely?, The dog in those photos was a big girl , Tasha is a tiny puppy  What happened? (w00t)

Maybe try softer food while her little mouth is sore?

Rae, yes that's Tascha, she's growing so fast it's hard to keep up. She's sulking a bit with me at the moment too though, cos I'm in full time work for the next 2 weeks, (started last week), and she's fell out with me big time, cos we do everything together, and I never leave her behind. Although Cliff is at home, she's my baby

I wonder if that could be the cause of her going off her food too????? :(

Exactly what I was thinking Rae ... peering into the background looking for the baby doglet!

She's looking fab Andrea!

When dogs (or babies) are teething they need something quite tough to cut their teeth on. Large chunks of meat (ox heart) or chicken necks are great. Or puppy teething ring made out of tough rubber. If you do not provide them with things to chew on, teething puppies will be very destructive.

I am not sure you are doing her any favours by giving her only soft food.

:luck:
