Can anyone explain to me how the superstars and top ten points are awarded? also the points for heats and consolatiion races ???

Hi Gary

For Superstars you get 1 point for a heat win, 2 points for a semi final win and then in the final 1st=6 pts , 2nd=5 pts, 3rd=4 pts , 4th=3pts . No points for quarter final wins and there must be semi finals or the whole weight group does not count for Superstars. The semi final rule does not apply to Veteran groups though.

In the Consolation League, only the final counts for points. Same scores as the main final.

Top Ten :

heat, quarter final and semi final wins all count for 1 point each.

Final scores : 1st=6pts, 2nd=4 pts, 3rd=3 pts and 4th=2pts.

No race scores at all unless it has at least 3 dogs in it unless that is only due to non-runners. So a semi final race scheduled to have only 1 or 2 runners in it would not count for Top Ten points but would count for Superstars points.

Thanks for answering so promptly, I think I can just about get my head around it now. Are the results available on the web or anywhere so you can follow how the dogs are doing?

The Superstars points can be found here http://www.thewhippetclub.com but they don't seem to be updated very often. I just had a look and this years are not on there yet. Have a look anyway.

Kim Saxby has the updated Superstars points list on her van at most meetings and Sarah Eaton has the Top Ten list on her car.

I could create a pinned topic at the top of the forum for the league tables. Now we just need to find someone to keep them up to date... Kim would be the obvious choice for Superstars
