Room or place to rent for my gs and I

Hello Everyone,

I am desperately in need of somewhere to live with my beautiful German Sheppard.

I lost my dear mother recently and have to vacate her / our home in the near future. We currently live in West Sussex and somewhere near here would be ideal, but we are prepared to move anywhere basically as long as we can be / stay together.

I cant help you im afraid but just wanted to say how sorry i am for your loss and hope you find somewhere for you both to live . Good luck .

If you google flats to rent with pets there are housing associations and landlords out there that do allow pets . I would also try places like facebook and putting ads in the local papers and shops . Like i say i wish you good luck .Beth

Dogs Trust run a scheme called Lets With Pets. They are trying to address the problem that you find yourself in.

Could you try approaching any landlords personally and assure them of your good character? Are you able to take your dog with you when you leave the house? They might be reassured if this is the case. My daughter and I have both, in the past, rented out our properties. We asked to meet the pets in their own environment so that we could assess them. Having said that, one still chewed a carpet when left downstairs during the night! The tenants paid for the damage.

Perhaps a large deposit to cover damage might swing it?
