Rescue dog doesn’t like coming in the house.

My rescue dog from a pound in Cyprus has no experience of living in a house. She loves the garden and spends all her time there. How can I get her used to being in the house when she refuses to come into the house and runs straight out again if I carry her in.? Thank you.

Time, time, time. Our boy from Greece came in, ate his tea and went out and dug himself a den under the hedge on his first night. Coax with treats rather than carry in and maybe not too much fuss in general. I think these dogs can feel trapped inside and it takes a good while for trust to develop. Do you have anything outside. Ours still will decide to go out and have a nap in the summer house with the door open rather than stay in...even when its cold. Only thunder storms drive him in!
