Last night I awoke to the sound of my cat Coco playing and jumping around my bedroom, and little rat squeaks. I turned the lights on and there it was, sitting in the corner. Quickly, before it could escape under my bed or into my wardrobe i grabbed it by its tail. So here I was, 1am in the morning standing in the middle of my bedroom with a rat in my hand (w00t) not knowing what to do. I am not proud of what I did with it, but I have no idea what would have been better. What would you have done?

i prob would have thrown up at the very sight of it :x and then screamed and screamed

WHAT DID YOU DO WITH IT ????????

Oh , I would have picked it up and given it a cuddle. It would be terrified of the cat and a human there together...I then would have taken him to the kitchen and fed him and given him a drink of water then put him outside in a field somewhere.

I love rats, I have my own fancy rats and they are much maligned. They are very intelligent and will keep out of your way if they can.

Wild rats and mice don`t have much of a life really, poor things.

Sorry, but my first thought would have been to throw it out the window.

Or shout to OH to throw it out the window.

Or let Austin get it!

I'm with Flowerpot. I'd have fed it and then released it outside in the woods. I've also kept rats and while I don't like the idea of them in my home, I couldn't kill one in cold blood.

But I fear if my whippie had it cornered, she might have dispatched it before I could get to it. :(

I wouldnt hurt the poor thing as much as i would hate it but i would have fed it and then set it free. Once its full up it wont come hunting back :D

I wouldn't have been brave enough to have grabbed it - but throwing out of window would have been my first thought.

I probably would have frozen under the bed covers - made a lot of noise to scare it away and then get 10 ton of rat poison and a million traps - and left home!!!

I used to keep rats - but they are a totally different kettle of fish to wild ones - having lost a friend to Rat born disease I'm totally phobic I'm afraid :b

Well, it was 1am and i did not particularly feel like a drive to the country while holding a rat by the tail :D

So I just took it to the end of my garden and let it go under the fence into my neighbor's place :b . Now I wait for Coco to bring it back again.

The whole idea of having cat was that she keeps rodents away from here,. and they do since she arrived. She did not mean to be catching them and bringing them home alive (w00t)
