can anyone tell me is there any racing in the northwest on sunday 29th august and if there is is there any good hotels near by would love to come and watch and bring my hubby so he can understand why whippets hold such aspecial place in my heart. plus he can't say no its my 30th b/day so he has to do what i want!!!

There might be club racing at Northern, Chorley.

Alternatively you could come to the BWRA championships in Melton Mowbray 28th & 29th August and there's a fab hotel nearby! We usually race at a track in Astley which is about 15 mins from Manchester but we're all travelling to the champs that weekend.

The Northern Pedigree Whippet Racing Club will be meeting on the Chisnell Playing Fields, Coppull Moor, Nr. Chorley on Sunday 29th August at 1pm. We normally meet every week. The number of dogs racing each week varies considerably depending on Opens and holidays. There are usually at least 9/10 racing plus trials for younger dogs. The numbers can increase to approximately 20 if there are no opens. All dogs have the opportunity to have at least 2 runs plus trials. The Northern has its own website and also appears under the Clubs & Societies section of Forums on this site. The race programme and results are shown on this site.
