The puppies were two weeks old on Tuesday. Today I offered them some slop made from raw mince and gravy. I only gave them a little and one pup had much more than the others. My vet suggested just liquidizing puppy food or chicken wings. I'm not overly keen raw chicken though... he didn't mention cooking the wings. Any other ideas for slop, plus how much and how often?

My vet told me to give soaked sloppy puppy complete food really quite runny at first, and I also gave them sugar free farleys rusks with puppy formula which they loved  The whole business of weening is messy and very funny :p o:)

mine had soaked complete food, and they also loved raw mince mixed with cooked porridge in a 50/50 ratio. they'd fall over each other trying to get to condensed milk. i miss their wet, white covered little faces :D

I've never had really small puppies but mine loved scrambled egg when they were little :D and rusks with goats milk

awww Lalena this is for you :huggles: :huggles:

For pups so young, I think pedigree chum puppy food mashed in milk is good plus it's easy to prepare. As they get older I introduce meat (beef mince) and veggies etc but I do think this is easier for young pups and it's got everything they need. The scrambled eggs is a good one for brekkies too and always goes down well.

just keep an eye on mum! towards the end, amber had had enough with feeding them herself, BUT, if they were given solids, she'd jump right in and nurse them... and in trade, eat THEIR food :- "

My puppy Esme  and the rest of her litter are being fed on rice pudding, tinned tuna and puppy food (only know this becasue when we went to see her it was quite hard to see her through the pudding (hence her KC name Lynperry Esmeralda Pudding))

We feed weetabix or other ceral soaked in warm milk from 3 weeks adding meat & grated veg as they grow 2 weeks old seems very young for meat unless the bitch is struggling to feed the pups eg no or very little milk good luck

What is the point of weaning pups so young if Mum is still feeding??? I never start to wean mine until they are about 4 weeks old and they start straight onto fine raw mince/tripe or tinned Butchers tripe so don't have anything sloppy. I am not a fan of 'milky' meals, as Mum always has access to them and weans them when she/they are ready.
