Puppy Coat Size

Hi all,

In 6 weeks time we are bringing home our first ever whippet puppy. She'll be 8 and 1/2 weeks old and I'd like to start looking for a coat and/or jumper for her, that will fit her from about 10 weeks of age, but I'm not sure at all what size I should be getting. I'd like it to be a little big, so she can grow into it, and get a few more weeks use out of it before buying a bigger one.

Any advise and/or links would be greatly appreciated.

'Jan's Gifts' do some lovely coats. Just type it into google and will come up. Really fast delivery too. A 15" one should be okay as there will be growing room! :thumbsup:

I've just measured - Frankie's was 17". He's just grown out of that now at 4 months. A 15" probably wouldn't fit for long at all.

Measure your pup as soon as you can and order from Jans Gifts and you'll probably get it the next day.

Got to agree, just bought Sparky a lovely coat from Jan's gifts, very quick delivery and it's so smart. Follow the measuring directions and you won't go wrong.

Jans gifts is a brilliant site. Ive also had a coat from K9.dogcoats.com - very good service too and very nice coats.

Both mine are 21" coats.

Have popped along to her site, and as as you've all said, the delivery is quick, so I think i'll wait until we've got her, then order one.

My pup is at the moment in a 15" from Jans gifts and i have also got her a 17" to grow into. She also has a 12" fleece from Jaycoats, which i put on her at 8weeks old she is now 13 weeks and it still fits as does the 15" coat. :thumbsup:

The good thing is they can always be put away for the next one :- "

Lily has a 17" ( and a 19" for later).. It fitted her fine at 16 weeks and should last a while. I agree, best to have several Whippets so the tiny coat isn't wasted! (w00t) :lol:
