We didn`t feel at all special :p at Nympsfield today cos EVERYBODY`S got a whippet puppy! :teehee:

Our Summer evening puppy sessions should be packed out and VERY lively!

Magic is now KNACKERED under his vetbed and Dandy much the same.

Wish I could curl under some vetbed, too!

See you next time.

Liz,Dandy,Magic and Gavin.

Sounded like a good day .........I couldn't come cos I was looking after my babes, same as Barbara :D ..........So there's still MORE to come (w00t)

It was another fabulous day. I enjoyed every second of it. Lovely to see Rae again, and her nice hubby Gary. Gary cheered up no end when he was told little Eric now has a home to go to ;)

I am feeling very pleased with fatso whoppet. He did running with another dog, the very enthusiastic Ziggy. It was close, but I think Nigel gave him a little head start......well he is fat!!!!!! He kept focused and finished very close to Ziggy

Thanks again for the hospitality and encouragement from the club...........

Hannah, think we might be joining, I am getting addicted. Judy said Archie could do proper racing, well, I could never imagine him being very good, but he would enjoy it :teehee:  :teehee:  :teehee:

We should be there next time so see you then Gavin, Liz, Dandy and Magic.

Where are the photos of Magic and Dandy Gavin? We've been seeing lots of Samael and Meadow so you are letting the side down. :p

SC sounded like a lot of fun today with ALL those pups and dogs trialing.

Very cute Barbara - Woody looks SO proud

Looking forward to seeing some racing pics from today!

I forgot to say how much Kaos has grown.......His nose has shot out, and he is looking very grown up in the space of two weeks. As for the lure, that tentative little dot has developed a natural killer instinct.........This time next year, he will be a real champion racer

Have taken the photo that I put on off. Thinking about it it wasn't applicable to the topic which is after all about the dogs who were there and not the dogs who weren't.

Still wanting to see some photos of Magic though Gavin you don't get off that lightly. :- "

Barb, I have never seen such an incy wincy cutie as Magic. Such a teeny little poppet...........Put Jest back! We love looking at him, and I hope I can see him in a couple of weeks in the flesh!

In his photos Magic reminds me of Riley who was there today with Nigel and Judy. What do you think?

I only got intimate with Kaos, Trouble and Ziggy...........Who is Riley?????

Magic is so delicate. I am not used to that sort of whippy, only fatties and thugs

Riley lives with Kaos, Trouble and Ziggy also Keeper. Riley is Zara's dad so thus is Magic, Kiri, Samael and Meadow's maternal grandad.

Well done btw on Archie's runs. Sounds like he's making really good progress. Looking forward to seeing him. Thuggy as you predicted has been out thuggied. Well sort of. He's found life difficult now that he's not the pack puppy.

We thought Magic had Riley's head too. Magic & Kiri were so sweet

Riley was running in the racing yesterday Jo. You must have missed Keeper too -he is Kaos & Trouble's dad. Some of us have seen the light and have more than one whippet you know :D

Archie never looked at Ziggy at all so he has really only got to learn to go through the traps now and you could try and clear him for racing.

And his tail has grown too... or maybe his legs have shrunk, and his ears are now doing hilarious things. We hope its just 'cus he's teething

I missed Jest's picture Beejay. Special request - PUT IT BACK ON.

When you say clear him for racing (and it really only would be so people could laugh hysterically at a fatty trying to race :b ), what does that entail. I presume they have to be a certain weight, and provide pedigree details. Do they have to reach a certain time to qualify? I have no idea about any of this (probably because I am so busy chatting)

I think Archie did really well too, just a few less sausuages per day and he'll soon drop the pounds :p

I was so pleased with my lot too - especially Star who wasn't put off by the other whippy who accidentally joined her on her chase for the lure :b Vader was bonkers all day, barking with excitement, he gave me a righthead ache. Who'd have thought he'd love it so much at his age (sorry for mentioning my baldy lurcher in the ped racing section  )

Kaos suddenly seemed a giant compared to little magic   and kimmy (I think she was called) but he still gives the best puppy kisses :D

Thanks to everyone again for their support and for making us feel so welcome. Thanks to Chris who held a couple of my lot while I slipped the others. Sorry we nipped off without saying 'bye' but I thought we'd be seeing everyone in the pub afterwards :b OH said he enjoyed it and would be going back...but then admitted that there wasn't much point getting 'too keen' without a 'proper' racing whippet........ o:) :- " o:) :- " o:)

Joanna we run our lot on a handicapped system so the fast dogs don't have it "easy" and the slower dogs arn't beaten week in and week out

OMG !!!!! Rae ........You NEED an Eric  ...........I can always unsell him for you ;)

OMG.........Don't tell me he's a convert (w00t) , I thought he was resisting all puppy ideas!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh go on, get one. I am half tempted, but you heard Lloyd........I AM NOT GETTING A DOBE!!!!!!!!!!!!! (They cost about £800.00 any-way)

Before a whippet can race, it has to have clearing trials. It just means that it has to run up the track with 3 other dogs without having a go at them so that it won't spoil the races. Normally a dog has to pass three clearing trials before it can race.

Archie never even looked at Ziggy and he was running quite close to him all the way up the track so I don't think you would have a problem getting him through clearing trials.

Thanks for the offer Hannah but it's just no good. He is one mean man :(

Lets get him a bit more hooked, and I'll try again...maybe the next litter..... :p

(Your Chris didn't seem too horrified when I suggested that there might be another litter ;) )

Thanks Judy,

I now understand Nigel's point about spoiling the dog by running novices together. Makes perfect sense. Luckily Archie runs free every day with other dogs, and is only interested in running away, not interacting. We'll have a go! 8)

Hannah has a secret weapon.......Chris says women have ways of getting what they want.......I personally can't imagine what that might be :b

Might be worth finding out though :- "
