Shane's Castle is the family seat of the O'Neills of Clandeboye. This Demense is one of the most beautiful and well maintained landscapes in Ireland, and although the Castle has been in ruins since the fire of 1816, the remaining structure, including the unique Camellia House, is a striking feature on the landscape. It was here today in its picturesque and and majestic surroundings, that the Deputy First Minister Martin Mc Guinness launched the 50th Irish Game at Shanes Castle. The Mayor of Antrim Mr Roy Thompson was also in attendance,as was many people from all walks of life, the Canine community and many other country sports people, along with Photographers and Press men from all over Ireland.

A big congratulations to Albert and Irene Tiiterington and their team on reaching their 50th Game Fair. What an achievement. Albert and Irene were presented with a beautiful painting of themselves in recognition for all their hard work and dedication over the many years and to date. After speeches, presentations, and photographs was over, a very tasty buffet was served, along with some liquid refreshments.

Young Man was there with a big glass of orange in front of him, and boy did he enjoy every minute of the day. There will be one tired little boy tonight. Bluebell was there with her camera, and I see she has some great photographs of the day on Facebook. Deidre also has a lot more photographs up on " Dog Shows in Ireland " on Facebook. Many thanks Deidre.

And finally, A very enjoyable day was had by all at the Launch of Shanes Castle Game Fair to day. Many thanks again to Irene and Albert Titterington for a most enjoyable and memorable day, and now off to bed early, to be bright and breezy for the Game Fair to morrow. All we want now for the next 2 days is good weather. Please God be kind to us all and keep the rain away. Good luck to everyone taking part in the Racing tomorrow, and showing on Sunday at the dog show. Hope to see you all, and your families there tomorrow and Sunday. There is something of interest for everyone, plenty of stalls and some great bargains and this Game Fair promises to be the best Game Fair ever. We have to go home early tomorrow to attend the baptism of our first Grand Child, Maddie Marie at 5.00pm.

Had a lovely day Margaret
