Hello, I posted a request for info on the pedigree board last week and they suggested I do the same on the non-pedigree as most clubs near me (Derby) seem to be non-pedigree.

We are thinking seriously of getting a whippet and if we do I'd like to give racing a go - previously we've owned and shown staffords.

The pedigree racing forum gave me some useful information but if anyone can give me any pointers from here I'd be most grateful. Basically are there any races localish to me in the near future (I realise it's probably not the best time of year) that I could go along and talk to a few people ?

Also is there much difference between a non-pedigree and pedigree whippet - I'd prefer a smallish bitch - is size much of an issue in races and is there much difference in the size, behaviour or looks of the pedigree/non-pedigree ?

Thanks

Askern on Sunday (South Yorkshire)

If you look at the top of the non-ped forum, Vicky's posted dates for this year and is just adding a 2007 calendar at the mo.

Just ETA Asfordby is fairly close to you, they've got an open planned for the 30th of December.
