Playing Too Hard?

Olive is a 2 year old Miniature Schnauzer she recently had a litter of puppies, all the puppies have flown the nest and we just have Doris left who we are keeping. Olive absolutely adores Doris and the same back. But Olive really does play extremely rough with her and I don’t know if I should intervene. Doris does yelp if Olive hurts her and I will immediately take Doris away from the situation am I doing it wrong? Should I give timeouts? Should I remove Doris/Olive? What should I do? Should i leave them or not? Also, Doris has started to hump things like Olives head! is this 'normal'? Any comments welcome
