My beautiful PHOENIX departed for the bridge this day 4 years ago and his passing still burns in my heart.

The most handsome,intelligent,loving dog I ever had the pleasure to share time with who had a passion for the chase and gave his all in everything he did.Commands were not needed,he knew my mind always.I shall never find his like again so forgive my indulgence of a few words and photos to celebrate his painfully short time with me.

We have a secret, you and I

that no one else will know,

for who but I will see you lie each night in fireside glow?

And who but I can reach my hand before we go to bed

and feel the living warmth of you and caress your silken head?

And only I walk woodland paths and see ahead of me

your lithe form racing with the wind so well again and free

And only I can see you swim in every brook I pass

and,when I call no one but I can see the bending grass.
